Iranian universities begin 1405–1406 academic year

The first semester of the 1405–1406 academic year has commenced across various Iranian universities, with institutions adopting different methods for conducting classes. While the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has emphasized that the principle for the new academic year is in-person instruction, universities are utilizing various formats including fully in-person, fully virtual, or hybrid models.

Some institutions, such as Tarbiat Modares, Allameh Tabataba'i, and Ilm va Sanat Universities, began in-person classes on September 18. Others, including the University of Tehran, Kharazmi University, Amirkabir University of Technology, and Sharif University of Technology, have scheduled their start dates for late September or early October.

Variations in scheduling and delivery methods are attributed to administrative requirements, dormitory preparations, student housing arrangements, and specific provincial decisions. The Ministry has noted that universities may conduct up to 25 percent of their instruction virtually, allowing for hybrid educational structures.
