Iran warns United States of strong retaliation to any new aggression

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told regional counterparts that Tehran will respond forcefully and proportionally to any further U.S. or Israeli attacks, describing the policy as an "eye‑for‑an‑eye" defence of its infrastructure. Araghchi spoke by phone with Turkey’s foreign minister Hakan Fidan, Pakistan’s military chief Asim Nair, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and Britain’s foreign minister Ed Miliband, warning that any participation in strikes against Iran would bring legal and security consequences.

U.S. officials have indicated plans for new strikes on Iran within the coming week, with Central Command preparing options that could include two weeks of intensive missile‑site bombing. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that the Strait of Hormuz is effectively closed to navigation except for vessels coordinated with Iranian forces. Shipping data showed 25 cargo ships passed through the Bab al‑Mandab Strait while only two ships entered the Hormuz Strait.

U.S. bases in the United Kingdom and other locations are reportedly being used to support operations against Iran.
