Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghsi Calls Global Leaders After Missile Launch on Israel

Iran fired a volley of rockets at Israel on Sunday, the first such strike since a cease‑fire was declared on 8 April. Tehran described the attack as a warning retaliation for Israeli bombing of the southern suburbs of Beirut, while the Israeli army called the strike a “serious mistake” and warned it would respond with force when authorized.

In the aftermath, Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghsi held a series of telephone conversations with foreign ministers and senior officials from the United Kingdom, France, Turkey and Egypt, as well as Pakistan’s army chief, Qatar’s prime minister and other regional mediators. The discussions focused on the latest developments in the Middle East and Iran’s response to repeated violations of the cease‑fire in Lebanon. The diplomatic outreach aimed to clarify Tehran’s position and seek to prevent further escalation in the region.
