Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi Warns United States Against Belligerent Policies

Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araqchi criticised the United States for “belligerent” policies, urging Washington to abandon military adventures and to respect the United Nations Charter and a recent memorandum of understanding with Pakistan.

In a phone call with Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir, Araqchi said the United States’ actions violate the memorandum and will be met with firm resistance from Iran’s armed forces. He also rebuked President Donald Trump’s recent insults, stating that derogatory language does not diminish Iran’s greatness and that Iran will answer with deeds, not vulgarity.

Araqchi noted ongoing diplomatic contacts with Oman and Turkey, stressing the importance of diplomatic channels to resolve regional tensions, especially around the Strait of Hormuz.
