Iran's foreign minister raises missile strike on Israel in talks with Western and regional allies

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held late‑night calls with foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, France, Turkey and Egypt, as well as Pakistan’s army chief and Qatar’s prime minister, to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East after Tehran launched a volley of missiles at Israel. The missile launch, the first since the cease‑fire announced on 8 April, was described by Israel as a “serious mistake” and the Israeli army warned it would respond with force once authorized.

Tehran framed the strike as a “warning” for Israel’s bombing of the southern suburbs of Beirut and said any further attacks on the Lebanese capital would be met with an even stronger retaliation. The discussions reflected Iran’s effort to coordinate its response with key regional and Western partners amid rising tensions over the violation of the cease‑fire in Lebanon.
