Iranian Guard says 200 US troops killed, 11 aircraft destroyed

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi told the semi‑official Tasnim news agency that, over a two‑week period from early to late July, Iranian forces inflicted heavy losses on United States military assets in the Middle East. He claimed more than 200 American servicemen were killed and many more wounded. The reported material losses include eleven U.S. warplanes – among them an F‑15, a C‑17 transport, a P‑8 maritime patrol aircraft and eight aerial refueling tankers – as well as seventeen reconnaissance and combat drones, eight of which were brand‑new. Mohebbi also listed the destruction of seven command‑and‑control centres, multiple satellite‑communication systems, six Patriot radars, a range of early‑warning and air‑defence radars, and numerous logistics facilities such as fuel tanks, ammunition depots and missile storage sites. The claims come amid a broader escalation in which the United States temporarily halted nightly bombings of Iranian positions, while Iranian allies such as the Houthis increased attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure.
