Iran's Pezeshkian dismisses U.S. economic pressure plans

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has dismissed new economic pressures from the United States, stating that such measures will achieve ‘nothing’ against the Islamic Republic. This follows a plan presented by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent aimed at inducing ‘economic asphyxiation’ in Iran through enhanced sanctions and warnings to other nations against participating in certain activities.

Pezeshkian noted that while Iran’s principle is to resolve issues through dialogue and negotiation, the country will continue to resist economic pressure as it has in the past.

Separately, Iranian military spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia announced on state television that all weapon systems damaged during recent conflict have been repaired. He added that new systems, sourced both from domestic defense industries and abroad, have been introduced to bolster the military’s combat capabilities.
