Iran's President vows resistance to aggression and warns of war's environmental impact
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that Iran will not yield to foreign aggression or excessive demands. Speaking in defense of the appointment of Mehrdad Ajlaqi as the new Minister of Defense, Pezeshkian emphasized national unity and the country's resolve to protect its territory.
During the XVII Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification in Armenia, Pezeshkian also addressed the environmental consequences of warfare. He claimed that military actions attributed to the United States and Israel have damaged Iranian industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, and environmental protection systems, leading to the destruction of forests and water resources.
Pezeshkian characterized the environmental devastation in the Gaza Strip as an environmental crime. He noted that the pollution resulting from regional conflicts transcends national borders and called for international cooperation to address these global impacts.
