Iran's Revolutionary Guard warns U.S. aircraft carriers
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a warning to the United States following Washington's decision to increase its military presence in the Middle East. IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebi released an image depicting a coastal missile battery aimed at an American aircraft carrier, accompanied by the message: “We are waiting for you.”
This escalation follows the deployment of a third U.S. carrier strike group to the region, alongside additional Marine expeditionary units. The USS Theodore Roosevelt departed in late September for the Middle East, joining the USS George H. W. Bush and the USS George Washington. The new force is expected to arrive in the region by November.
The heightened military activity occurs amid extremely strained relations between Washington and Tehran. While Donald Trump previously stated there would be no new American military operations against Iran before the November 3 midterm elections, Tehran continues to issue warnings to U.S. forces deploying in the area.
