Iran‑US tensions trigger missile strikes on Jordan and Kuwait bases as US issues travel advisory
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a ballistic missile attack on Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, claiming it hit three F‑35 aircraft and damaged additional U.S. assets. The IRGC also said it struck the U.S. Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait, destroying unmanned aircraft and a fuel depot. U.S. Central Command rejected the claims, stating no American aircraft were damaged and that all Iranian missiles were intercepted.
Amid the heightened threat environment, the U.S. State Department released an emergency travel advisory for the Middle East, urging American citizens to consider leaving the region and to prepare for possible evacuation. The advisory listed specific guidance for travelers in Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, and other Gulf states, warning of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures and disruptions to ground transportation.
