Irapuato funds school upgrades and launches a 1,390‑hectare Knowledge‑Innovation master plan

The municipal government of Irapuato will allocate four million Mexican pesos to the "Dignificar tu Escuela" program, aiming to address minor maintenance needs in roughly 350 basic‑education schools across the city. Materials such as shade nets, paint, waterproofing, cement for ramps, boards, flooring, shelving, sports and teaching supplies will be provided after a new needs‑diagnosis is completed.

In parallel, Irapuato unveiled a comprehensive "Plan Maestro del Polígono del Conocimiento, Investigación y Emprendimiento" covering 1,390 hectares. The plan organizes the area into three zones – a business and entrepreneurship hub, a knowledge and research cluster linking universities and research centers, and a residential‑services node with urban gardens and cultural spaces. It includes upgrades to Federal Highway 45, a new CIE‑BUS transit network, pedestrian and bike paths, a water‑treatment plant, and the creation of aerospace, health, and agricultural clusters, as well as a modern sports‑performance center and a Museum of Corn.
