Irapuato city government advances road rehab, historic‑center upgrades and green‑space protections

The municipal government of Irapuato, Guanajuato, completed a comprehensive rehabilitation of Calle Allende in the Rancho Nuevo del Llanito community. The project, costing more than 5 million pesos, repaved the road with asphalt concrete, upgraded water‑supply, sanitary and storm‑drainage networks, installed LED streetlights, new signage and a garden strip, improving mobility and safety for dozens of families.

In a separate initiative, the city’s Centro Histórico coordination expanded its program from the downtown core to eight of Irapuato’s oldest neighbourhoods – La Salud, San José, San Miguel, La Piedra Lisa, San Cayetano, Santa Anita, Santiaguito and San Vicente. The expansion will deliver structural pothole repairs, full street paving, water‑line replacements with PVC, new domestic taps, accessible sidewalks, unified façade colour schemes, public‑space revitalisation, upgraded lighting and safety signage.

Additionally, the municipal Urban Development Commission approved the formal allocation of municipal‑donated green spaces in ten colonias and fraccionamientos to prevent illegal occupation. The designated areas, some already equipped with playgrounds or sports fields, will remain municipal property and be managed as public green zones, contributing to long‑term quality‑of‑life improvements for residents.
