Irapuato IMSS clinic funding dispute escalates between PAN and Morena deputies

Deputy Diego Rodríguez Barroso of the PAN accused fellow legislator José Javier Aguirre of Morena of blocking a 30 million‑peso allocation for pre‑investment studies of a new IMSS clinic in Irapuato, Guanajuato. Barroso said the denial threatens the timely start of construction for a hospital that would serve more than 450,000 IMSS affiliates in the region.

Barroso reported that the PAN has submitted multiple requests to the IMSS and presented a point of agreement in the Senate to prioritize the project in the 2027 budget, arguing that political will is lacking. Aguirre responded that the matter goes beyond media attention, citing procedural delays that began in 2021 and stressing that the project will be taken to state authorities and the IMSS director for budgeting consideration.
