Irapuato, Mexico sees fatal stray‑bullet attack on 9‑year‑old boy and separate shooting of a man

A 9‑year‑old boy named Alejandro was killed after being struck by multiple stray bullets during an armed attack in the Las Huertas neighbourhood of Irapuato, Guanajuato. The shooting occurred on the Fresas street near Durazno, leaving the child dead on a dirt road beside his bicycle; an 8‑year‑old girl was wounded and taken to hospital. Municipal, state and Guard Nacional forces, as well as prosecutors, responded to the scene.

In a separate incident in the El Carrizalito community of Irapuato, a man was shot dead after gunfire erupted at a street intersection. Witnesses said the suspected shooters fled on motorcycles. Guard Nacional arrived first, confirmed the victim had no vital signs, and secured the area for forensic investigation by state authorities.
