Irapuato officials emphasize infrastructure upgrades and demand transparency for federal youth program

Mayor Lorena Alfaro García of Irapuato met with residents of the San Gabriel Primera Sección colony, pledging continued investment in infrastructure, connectivity, public spaces and environmental sustainability. Neighbours highlighted recent improvements such as new benches, playground equipment and regular cleaning, thanking municipal agencies for the upgrades.

Fernando González López, president of COPARMEX Irapuato‑Salamanca, said federal social initiatives, notably the Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro program, could create valuable job opportunities for young people without experience, but only if the funding is managed with strict transparency and robust monitoring. He urged tighter oversight and clearer evaluation mechanisms to ensure resources reach intended beneficiaries.

Both local leaders underscored the need for collaborative effort between government, businesses and the community to sustain development and social benefits in Irapuato.
