Irapuato opens new Municipal Security Complex with 241 million‑peso investment

State and municipal officials inaugurated the first phase of Irapuato's new Municipal Security Complex on Boulevard Solidaridad. The project, funded with 241.9 million pesos from the Guanajuato state government, was opened by Governor Libia García Muñoz Ledo and Mayor Lorena Alfaro García.

The modern facility houses a command center, police and traffic divisions, a proximity office, and a 2,207‑square‑meter civic plaza. It is equipped with advanced technology, including a closed‑circuit TV system, voice‑data network, retractable barriers and fire‑suppression systems. During the ceremony, 53 cadets and a cohort of traffic agents graduated and were sworn into the municipal police force, adding 39 new officers, 26 of them women, to the city's security staff. Officials said the complex will improve surveillance, intelligence and community policing in Irapuato.
