Irapuato road maintenance and potholes cause traffic disruptions

Infrastructure issues are causing significant disruption in Irapuato, Mexico. Maintenance work on the eastern section of Paseo Irapuato, which began on July 27, has led to heavy traffic congestion during peak morning and afternoon hours. Drivers have reported that the closure of two lanes has shifted traffic to Héroe de Nacozari and Florencia, and have criticized the lack of synchronized traffic lights to manage the increased vehicle volume.

Separately, the Libramiento Sur in Irapuato is in poor condition due to numerous potholes, particularly near the access to the cloverleaf heading from Abasolo toward Salamanca. The damaged road surface poses safety risks, forcing drivers to reduce speeds to avoid vehicle damage. While repair crews have been observed performing patching work, local residents note that recent rains and heavy traffic frequently cause the potholes to reappear.
