Irapuato to receive new federal community center

The Mexican Federal Government has announced the construction of a new community center in Irapuato, Guanajuato, as part of the ‘México Imparable’ initiative. The project aims to address violence, crime, and the lack of development spaces for youth and families in the Lucio Cabañas area.

The center is intended to serve approximately one thousand people and will feature sports facilities, including football, basketball, and volleyball courts, as well as a jogging track. Additionally, the facility will provide cultural activities and free psychological and mental health services.

This project is one of one hundred community centers planned by the federal government across various municipalities to tackle the root causes of violence. Local community leaders expressed that the construction fulfills a long-standing request from residents in several surrounding neighborhoods.
