Iraq accelerates International Coalition withdrawal through September 30
The withdrawal of the International Coalition forces from Iraq is accelerating, with a final deadline set for September 30, 2026. Iraqi military spokesperson Sabah al-Nu'man confirmed that the process is being closely coordinated with the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to ensure national sovereignty and security.
German forces have already completed their withdrawal from Erbil. Following their departure, sites occupied by German troops at Erbil International Airport will be handed over to the airport authority, while other military bases will be transferred to the Peshmerga forces.
