Iraq Detains Ukraine-Linked Operatives and Probes Drone Attacks Alleged From Its Territory
Iraq's National Security Advisor Kasim al‑Abudi announced that security forces had captured members of cells that operated on behalf of Ukraine. He said the detainees confessed to organizing various attacks inside Iraq, stating, "We have apprehended groups that carried out attacks on Iraqi soil and learned that they worked for Ukraine."
The Iraqi government also said it will investigate accusations that unmanned aerial vehicles targeting Saudi Arabia were launched from Iraqi territory. Prime Minister Zeydi ordered security units to examine the evidence provided by Saudi defence officials and promised legal action against any individuals or groups found responsible, emphasizing that Iraq will not tolerate its land being used as a launch point for attacks on neighbouring states.
