Iraq to end International Coalition military mission by September 30

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zeydi has announced that the International Coalition's military mission in Iraq will officially conclude on September 30. According to the Prime Minister, no foreign soldiers will remain on Iraqi soil as of October 1.

The withdrawal marks the end of a long-standing foreign military presence that began in 2014, primarily led by the United States to combat ISIS. The Iraqi government views this transition as a significant milestone for national sovereignty, asserting that the country now possesses the necessary military and institutional capacity to maintain its own security and stability.
