Iranian market sees higher steel, rebar and car prices as bond yields rise

On Sunday 4 Mordad 1405 (July 27, 2026), Iranian sources reported a rise in the price of steel rebar (milgord) and raw steel, with tables of updated rates released by the trade news service. The same day, detailed price lists for Iran Khodro and Saipa vehicles were published, showing increased dealer and market prices across models such as TARA, Heema, Dena, Peugeot 207, Quick, Atlas, Shahin and others. In parallel, the yield on Islamic Treasury bonds (AKHZA) climbed to 38.3%, a level above the average recorded since the start of the Iranian fiscal year 1404 (2025‑2026). Analysts noted that higher bond yields generally lower bond prices and raise the cost of government financing, potentially shifting investor appetite toward debt markets and away from equities. Together, the commodity, automotive and debt‑market updates signal tightening cost pressures for Iranian businesses and consumers.
