IRGC spokesperson claims US sanctions cost more than Iran

Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that the economic costs of US sanctions and maritime blockades on Iran will result in significantly higher damages to the United States than to Iran. Mohebbi argued that for every dollar of economic damage inflicted on Iran, the US could face several dollars in losses.

Addressing US military presence, Mohebbi claimed that the deployment of naval fleets and aircraft carriers has failed to force an Iranian retreat, suggesting that US military calculations have met significant limitations. He also questioned the US ability to win an economic war, citing its own heavy national debt and ongoing economic competition with China.

Furthermore, the spokesperson noted that regional developments are impacting global markets, specifically affecting strategic reserves and the supply of raw materials in the US. He highlighted that regional instability has also disrupted aluminum production and exports, removing some regional production capacity from the market.
