Iron Maiden celebrates 50th anniversary at Eddfest, reports dive‑bar parasol theft
The heavy‑metal band Iron Maiden marked its 50th anniversary with a two‑day festival, Eddfest, at Knebworth House in England on July 10‑11, 2024. The event featured the Infinite Dreams Experience, the Unfair Funfair and a fan‑focused area called Maidenville, where attendees could explore Eddie‑themed attractions.
A six‑minute official video released by the band shows bassist Steve Harris touring the empty site before fans arrived, backstage moments and live performances. In the video the band thanks fans, merch partners and crew, and notes that custom‑branded parasols from the Eddie’s Dive Bar were stolen on the opening night, describing the act as "not cool".
The release also highlighted Iron Maiden’s recent partnership with Pophouse Entertainment, which acquired a stake in the band’s publishing, master rights and image‑likeness rights and will collaborate on future creative projects and a cinematic film of the band’s Run For Your Lives world tour.
