Iron Maiden hosts world's first official themed race in São Paulo

The first official Iron Maiden themed race in the world, titled ‘Run For Your Lives’, took place in the historic center of São Paulo on Saturday. The event brought together approximately 5,000 participants for a variety of activities, including a competitive 5 km race, a 2.5 km walk, and a children's race.

Starting and ending at Vale do Anhangabaú, the route passed through several iconic urban landmarks, such as Viaduto Santa Efigênia, Pátio do Colégio, Teatro Municipal, Viaduto do Chá, and Galeria do Rock. The event combined sports with heavy metal culture to celebrate the band's 50-year history.

In the competitive 5 km category, Fayles Gomes Galindo took first place in the men's division with a time of 16 minutes, while Damaris de Siqueira Simioli won the women's category in 19 minutes. Following the success of the São Paulo event, organizers Indice Sports MKT have announced that the next edition will be held in Curitiba in December.
