Ironman World Championship: 56 pro men confirmed for Hawaii

The professional field for the men's Ironman World Championship in Hawaii has been finalized with 56 athletes. Belgian Marten Van Riel is the sole representative from Belgium and enters as a top contender following a victory at Ironman Lake Placid and a second-place finish at Ironman Texas.

Norway's dominance is expected to continue with Gustav Iden, Kristian Blummenfelt, and reigning world champion Casper Stornes all participating. Other notable competitors include world record holder Sam Laidlow and Jonas Schomburg.

In preparation for both the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Nice and the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, Kristian Blummenfelt is currently undergoing intensive altitude training in St. Moritz. His training regimen includes high-intensity cycling intervals and demanding track sessions to refine his form for the upcoming major competitions.
