Isaac del Toro targets 2027 Tour de France after top world ranking

Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro has concluded the season ranked third in the UCI world rankings, trailing only Tadej Pogacar and Remco Evenepoel. This follows his historic performance in the 2026 Tour de France, where he finished third in the general classification and secured the white jersey as the best young rider.

The route for the 2027 Tour de France has been announced, scheduled to take place from July 2 to July 25. The race will cover 3,479 kilometers and includes three stages in the United Kingdom, starting in Scotland and moving through England and Wales.

The 2027 course features two individual time trials and significant mountain stages, including a queen stage through the Pyrenees featuring the Col du Tourmalet and Col du Portet. Experts suggest the route, which emphasizes climbing and time trialing, provides opportunities for Del Toro to challenge for the yellow jersey.
