Isabel Gose and Florian Wellbrock win gold at European Aquatics Championships

German swimmers dominated the open-water events at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris, held in the River Seine. Isabel Gose secured gold in the knockout sprint with a time of 6:41.0, finishing ahead of Hungary's Bettina Fabian and Italy's Ginevra Taddeucci.

Florian Wellbrock achieved a triple gold performance, winning the 5km, 10km, and the 4x1.5km mixed relay. The mixed relay team, composed of Julia Ackermann, Isabel Gose, Oliver Klemet, and Wellbrock, took first place, defeating Italy and Hungary.

The competitions proceeded following concerns regarding water quality after an oil film was spotted in the river; however, subsequent testing confirmed pollutant levels remained within permitted limits.
