Iserlohn and Wiesbaden begin extensive sewer renovation projects

The city of Iserlohn started on 9 June a four‑day renovation of about 500 metres of its public sewer network along Seeuferstraße and Seilerseestraße. The work is part of a broader programme to refurbish roughly 3.8 km of pipe using a trenchless sleeve‑lining method, with the main section expected to finish by 17 June and follow‑up work scheduled for early July. Access to the nearby restaurant “Wilde Ente” and the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten will remain open, and the specialist contractor Aarsleff Rohrsanierung GmbH is overseeing the project.

In Wiesbaden, Scheffelstraße was fully closed to motorised traffic on 8 June as the municipality replaces the sewer and installs new district‑heating pipelines. The full‑closure, which also affects cyclists, is planned to last until about 18 August. Pedestrian routes stay usable. The upgrades are intended to modernise the underground infrastructure and support the city’s heating transition, with the utility ESWE managing the new heating lines.
