Isfahan steel retirees protest over pensions and healthcare

Retirees from the Isfahan steel industry have entered their third consecutive day of protests in front of the Isfahan Governorate. The demonstrators are demanding the immediate restoration of health insurance coverage, the payment of overdue pension arrears, and improvements to their living conditions.

Protesters highlighted that while the Steel Fund was transferred to a national fund, the final 30 percent of the pension adjustment plan has not been implemented, leaving many in a state of uncertainty. Despite the Steel Fund signing a new contract with Dana Insurance Company five months ago, retirees report that they are still not receiving adequate medical services.

The group emphasized that they have spent their lives working in the harsh conditions of the steel industry and are now facing significant difficulties accessing healthcare in their old age.
