Iskandar Puteri factory closed over upside-down flags and unlicensed operations

An industrial premises in the SILC Industrial Park, Iskandar Puteri, has been ordered to cease operations after it was discovered to be flying the Malaysian Jalur Gemilang and the Johor state flag upside down. Following complaints, the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP) conducted an inspection alongside the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

During the investigation, authorities discovered that the facility was operating without a valid business license and was displaying unlicensed signage. Consequently, MBIP issued a Stop Business Notice and imposed fines. The owner was also ordered to immediately correct the position of the flags.

In addition to licensing violations, officials found 14 workers at the site, including two locals and 12 foreign nationals. The 12 foreign workers were detained and taken to the Iskandar Puteri District Police Headquarters for further investigation regarding their work permit status.
