Islamabad Chamber of Commerce delegation meets with Interior Minister

A delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), led by President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, met with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry to discuss regulatory challenges facing Islamabad’s business community.

Key topics included the sealing of commercial plazas following a fire incident at PIMS Nursery, CDA-related regulatory matters, Floor Area Ratio (FAR) charges, parking requirements, and general compliance. The ICCI emphasized the need for a balanced approach to fire safety enforcement, requesting that authorities use transparent and consultative mechanisms to allow businesses time to implement corrective measures without unnecessary disruption.

To address these issues, it was agreed that the ICCI will serve as a ‘single-window platform’ for coordination between the business community and government departments. This arrangement aims to facilitate direct engagement and practical solutions. Minister Chaudhry stated that restoring business community confidence is a government priority and pledged to address genuine concerns through a coordinated approach.
