Islamabad new model jail completed, says Interior Minister

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that a new model jail has been completed in Islamabad. He stated that prisoners currently held in Adiala Jail will be transferred to this new facility.

During a visit to Bahara Kahu with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Naqvi also outlined several urban development plans for Islamabad. These include reclaiming 108 kanals of land to establish three museums, including an army museum, and renovating older sectors such as G-6, G-7, G-9, and G-10. Additionally, the government plans to eliminate encroachments and move the electricity transmission system underground in collaboration with LESCO.

On a separate matter, Minister Naqvi visited the family of Laiba Ijaz, a gold medalist student from Islamic University who died by suicide. He returned a significant portion of 7.2 million rupees that had been fraudulently taken from the family by an agent, with assurances that the remaining funds would be returned soon.
