Crotone law enforcement conducts rescues and utility theft crackdowns
Law enforcement agencies in the Crotone province of Italy have conducted several operations involving maritime rescues, inspections, and crackdowns on utility theft.
In separate maritime incidents, two off-duty police officers rescued an unconscious woman from the sea, while the Guardia di Finanza saved seven people from a capsized vessel near Isola Capo Rizzuto.
Authorities have also intensified inspections of coastal businesses. An inter-agency operation led to the suspension of a restaurant due to hygiene failures and administrative irregularities. Additionally, Carabinieri investigations into water theft in Isola Capo Rizzuto resulted in five individuals being reported to judicial authorities for aggravated theft following the discovery of illegal connections to the water network.
In the Trapani region, police and utility technicians identified electricity theft in Marsala. The investigation led to the charges of two individuals and the seizure of various narcotics and cash during a search of an illegally occupied property.
