Israel accused of delaying Lebanon negotiations due to upcoming elections

Lebanese authorities claim Israel is employing a ‘delaying tactic’ to stall negotiations regarding military withdrawal from southern Lebanon. According to sources cited by Arabic media outlets, including Al Jazeera, these delays are linked to upcoming Israeli elections and the political future of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Reports indicate that Israel has signaled the failure of pilot zones intended for the withdrawal of military units in southern Lebanon, which officials view as an attempt to gain time. While the Lebanese government has reached out to Hezbollah for consultations to assist in negotiations, no response has been received. There is reportedly international consensus that Hezbollah cannot be disarmed quickly or through force.

Amidst these diplomatic tensions, Israeli military operations in Lebanon continue. Lebanese sources suggest that Israel is seeking direct contact with the Lebanese army rather than involving international forces in the south.
