Israel airstrikes kill Lebanese soldiers, draw Arab condemnations

Israeli warplanes bombed dozens of locations in southern Lebanon early Monday, hitting villages such as Zefta, Yater, and others. The attacks caused extensive material damage, destroyed civilian homes and shelters, and resulted in civilian casualties, including the death of four residents and injuries to many others.

The strikes also killed two Lebanese army personnel after a patrol on the Khardali‑Nabatieh road was hit. In response, foreign ministries of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt issued strong condemnations, calling the raid a serious escalation that breaches Lebanon’s sovereignty and violates UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The statements urged the international community to act to halt Israel’s repeated attacks and to support Lebanon’s territorial integrity.
