Israel and Lebanon exchange claims over military operations in southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the destruction of over 540 terrorist sites and the seizure of more than 150 weapons in southern Lebanon. Operating under the 91st Division, Israeli forces targeted locations including Al-Khiam, Tayr Harfa, Mays al-Jabal, and Majdal Zun. The seized arsenal included rockets, anti-tank missiles, artillery, grenades, RPGs, Kalashnikov rifles, and various explosives. The IDF stated these operations aim to reduce threats to northern Israeli communities while maintaining commitment to the ceasefire agreement.
Conversely, the Lebanese Army command refuted Israeli allegations regarding military activities south of the Litani River. The Lebanese military stated it successfully completed the decommissioning of a military installation in Kafra, Bint Jbeil district, which had been subject to previous Israeli bombings. The Lebanese Army claimed that operations in the area were frequently hindered by Israeli refusals to allow the full clearing of military material and munitions, despite coordination with the Hostilities Cessation Monitoring Committee.
