Overview

Military activity has escalated in border regions, specifically affecting southern Lebanon and parts of Yemen. Initial reports indicated artillery shelling in Yemen’s Saada governorate targeting residential areas, alongside Israeli military operations in Bint Jbeil and other Lebanese towns such as Al-Mansouri and Sarbin. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attacks as a “dangerous escalation” that targets civilian administrations and health centers. He has called on the United States and the international community to intervene. Further Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon have caused significant casualties and destruction despite a US-brokered framework agreement. Authorities reported that strikes killed at least seven people and injured dozens in Nabatieh, Arab Salim, and Kfar Remman, destroying a historical building in Nabatieh and an out-of-service hospital in Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
