Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israeli forces have killed approximately 4,000 of the 6,000 militants who participated in the October 7, 2023, attacks. According to Katz, roughly 2,000 participants remain.

Katz stated that both he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have ordered the military to pursue and eliminate all remaining individuals involved in the attack, regardless of their rank. This directive was shared following a meeting with Shlomi Binder, the head of Military Intelligence.

To assist in these operations, the Shin Bet has established a specialized unit known as Nili, specifically tasked with locating and neutralizing militants who entered Israeli territory during the initial offensive.

While Israel continues its military operations, Gaza health officials report that the death toll from Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 74,000.
