Israel conducts airstrikes and artillery attacks in southern Lebanon
The Israeli military has continued air and artillery strikes against southern Lebanon, despite an existing ceasefire and a framework agreement intended to establish long-term peace. According to reports, attacks targeted several areas, including the city of Tyre and towns within the Nabatieh governorate, such as Beraşit, Mansuri, East Zavtar, and Mifadun.
In one instance, an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) struck a house in the Mifadun area. Other strikes caused significant explosions in residential neighborhoods, including the Ruways district of East Zavtar.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in a heavy human toll. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that at least 4,389 people have been killed since intense Israeli attacks began on March 2. Additionally, more than 1 million people have been displaced within the country.
While a framework agreement was signed on June 26 with US mediation to facilitate a gradual Israeli withdrawal and promote peace, recent military actions in the field have raised concerns regarding the stability of the diplomatic process.
