Israel conducts airstrikes and artillery attacks in southern Lebanon
The Israeli military conducted a series of airstrikes and artillery attacks across southern Lebanon, targeting districts including Tyre, Nabatieh, Marjayoun, and Bint Jbeil.
Reports indicate significant damage in several towns. In the Tyre district, homes in Mansouri were demolished, and Wadi Zibqin faced artillery and machine-gun fire. In the Nabatieh district, strikes hit Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Mayfadoun, with one strike reportedly destroying a house in Mayfadoun. In Bint Jbeil, Israeli forces engaged in machine-gun fire and tank shelling in Hadatha.
The Israeli army stated on social media that these operations were a response to an explosive-laden Hezbollah drone launched toward Israeli forces on Saturday. These military actions occur despite a US-mediated framework agreement signed in June, which intended to facilitate the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces in exchange for Lebanese army deployment and the disarmament of Hezbollah.
