Israel conducts artillery strikes in southern Lebanon

Israeli military forces conducted a series of artillery strikes against various locations in southern Lebanon, including the Nabatieh and Tyre districts. According to Lebanese news agency NNA, the attacks involved the use of phosphorus munitions in areas such as Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Mayfadoun, and Nabatieh al-Fawqa.

These military operations appear to violate a framework agreement reached in June, which was mediated by the United States to establish the foundations for a permanent ceasefire. The agreement aimed to restore Lebanese sovereignty in the south and included provisions for the disarmament of Hezbollah, a condition the group has rejected.

Lebanese authorities report that since the beginning of hostilities in early March, the conflict has resulted in at least 4,386 deaths, 12,407 injuries, and the displacement of over one million people. In recent actions, Lebanese Army specialists successfully defused two unexploded Israeli aerial bombs in the Majdal Selm and Al-Ghandouriyah areas.
