Israel considers deporting activists protecting West Bank farmers
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz is reportedly working on measures to ban or deport activists who enter the West Bank to protect Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. According to reports, Katz has instructed officials to explore using administrative orders to prevent both Israeli and foreign activists from entering specific areas without a court ruling.
The initiative follows a request from Israel Ganz, head of the Yesha Council, who sought to prevent organizations such as ‘Go Palestine’, ‘Protect the Harvest’, ‘Faz3a’, and the ‘International Solidarity Movement’ from intervening in the region. This move comes amid rising tensions and settler attacks against Palestinian farmers during the seasonal harvest.
