Israel continues ceasefire violations in Gaza with air and ground strikes
Despite a cease‑fire that took effect on 10 October 2025, the Israeli military carried out intensive air raids over central Gaza on that day, targeting refugee camps in Deir al‑Balâ, Megazi and Nusayrat. Houses were bombed after evacuation warnings, three Palestinians were killed and 15 injured, including four people wounded at Nusayrat Hospital. Israeli tanks and artillery also moved into the Zeytun neighbourhood and other parts of the city.
A nine‑month report released in July 2026 documented more than 3,600 cease‑fire breaches by Israeli forces since the October 2025 truce. The attacks resulted in at least 1,110 Palestinian deaths and roughly 3,000 injuries, with 142 Palestinians detained. Humanitarian aid fell far short of expectations, with only about 35% of the 165,000 trucks pledged reaching Gaza. Travel restrictions allowed just 36% of the 24,000 people slated to leave the territory to do so. Palestinian authorities accused Israel of a systematic policy of targeting civilians and called on guarantor nations to enforce full compliance with the cease‑fire terms.
