Israel Destroys Hezbollah Drone Fortress in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli Defense Forces demolished a 200‑meter underground tunnel network in the Lebanese village of Majdal Zoun, a site the military described as a Hezbollah “drone fortress.” Built more than 25 metres below ground with Iranian assistance, the tunnel stored dozens of dismantled drones, warheads, explosives and four launch shafts aimed at Israeli territory. The explosion was heard across northern Israel. The operation, named “Sof Pasuk,” resulted in the death of roughly 20 Hezbollah fighters, including members of the elite Radwan force, and the removal of hundreds of weapons.

Hezbollah’s use of small fiber‑optic FPV drones, which fly without emitting radio signals, has become a growing threat to Israeli troops and civilians. The IDF is deploying mesh netting, shotgun ammunition and developing new detection technologies. Israeli defence firms, such as Airwayz, are working with the military to fuse optical, acoustic, radar and laser sensors to give soldiers longer warning times against these drones.
