The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of two Hamas commanders involved in the October 7, 2023, attacks.

In Gaza City, an Israeli strike guided by the Shin Bet targeted and killed Jamal Mahmoud Abu Kamil. The IDF identified Abu Kamil as an active threat who had been advancing attacks against Israeli troops in Gaza in recent months. The military stated his elimination was an operational necessity to dismantle the continuing military infrastructure of Hamas.

Additionally, the IDF confirmed the elimination of Muhammad Bassam Muhammad Mushtaha, a company commander in the Shati’ Battalion of Hamas’s military wing. Mushtaha was struck two weeks ago in the northern Gaza Strip. According to military statements, Mushtaha participated in the October 7 infiltration and was involved in the captivity of several Israeli hostages.
