Israel escalates Gaza cease‑fire breaches, civilian deaths rise
Israeli forces have continued to violate the Gaza cease‑fire for a 260th consecutive day, carrying out house demolitions, artillery and air strikes across the enclave. The latest attacks hit western Gaza City, killing a young man, Walid Majdi Haniya, and injuring a teenager in Khan Younis. Israeli tank fire also struck displaced‑person tents near the Austrian cemetery in Khan Younis.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reports that since the cease‑fire began on 10 October, the death toll has reached 1,031 and injuries total 3,309, with 785 bodies recovered. Cumulatively, the war that started on 7 October has caused more than 73,000 Palestinian deaths and over 173,000 injuries, underscoring the scale of the humanitarian disaster.
