Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon have killed at least 11 people, marking a significant escalation following previous ceasefire agreements brokered in June. The strikes, which targeted areas including Nabatieh, Ansar, and Deir al-Zahrani, occurred after a Hezbollah drone attack wounded three Israeli soldiers.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the deaths of two senior Hezbollah commanders during the operations. Ali Muhammad Fakhr al-Din, a commander in the Badr regional division, was killed in Deir al-Zahrani. Additionally, Ali Samir Al-Haj Hassan, a battalion commander in the elite Radwan Force, was killed in a strike on a headquarters in Ansar.

Lebanese officials have condemned the bombings, noting that the attacks have hit areas previously considered safe. The escalation comes despite two truce agreements mediated by the United States in June, which aimed to cease Hezbollah fire and address the presence of militants in the region. The Lebanese government is reportedly planning further talks with Israel next month.
