Israel Halts Sensitive Operations in Southern Lebanon at US Request

Israel’s military received orders to freeze all operations classified as “sensitive” in southern Lebanon after a request from the United States. The pause will remain in effect until further guidance, while officials anticipate a possible Israeli withdrawal from the area within weeks and new talks in Rome involving Lebanese and U.S. delegations.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah parliamentarian Dr. Ibrahim al‑Mousawi addressed a funeral ceremony for a martyr, reiterating that the resistance stands to defend the country’s sovereignty. He criticised U.S. influence, praised Iran’s support for Lebanon, and warned that Lebanese sovereignty relies on the sacrifices of its fighters.
