Israel Haredi Car Protest Mobilises 5,000 Vehicles from 19 Cities

Around 5,000 cars gathered at 19 departure points across Israel to launch a coordinated Haredi vehicle protest at 16:00. Organisers, led by Agudat Yisrael chairman Rabbi Yitzhak Goldknopf together with rabbis such as Meir Perush and politicians including MK Moshe Rot, aim to halt what they describe as persecution of Torah scholars, specifically opposition to military conscription and the recent arrests of yeshiva students.

Police warned of significant traffic disruptions on major routes, especially Highways 1, 2, 4 and 6, and urged drivers to plan alternate journeys. Early reports noted unusually light traffic on some corridors as participants assembled. The convoy is expected to travel slowly, creating bottlenecks and prompting authorities to monitor the march closely.
